ESG & Sustainability Excellence Hub
Institutional-grade ESG governance, disclosure readiness and the training pipeline behind them — built for organisations entering mandatory sustainability reporting.
Mandatory Disclosure Is No Longer A Future Problem
We help organisations respond directly to the mandatory sustainability reporting rollout: the ICPAK phased roadmap brings Public Interest Entities into scope from 2027, large enterprises from 2028 and SMEs from 2029, alongside CMA, NSE and CBK mandates.
The organisations that will report cleanly in 2027 are the ones baselining their data in 2026. This pillar exists to compress that gap — governance structures, disclosure systems and the trained people to run both.
- Disclosure mapped to GRI, IFRS S1/S2, CSRD and TNFD in one workstream
- Board and audit committee oversight aligned to ICS governance guidelines
- A training pipeline that leaves certified practitioners inside your organisation
What This Hub Delivers
Regulatory Disclosures & Assurance
Double materiality assessments, gap analysis and assurance readiness mapped to GRI Standards, IFRS S1 and S2, CSRD and TNFD — so the first mandatory report is built on defensible data rather than estimates.
ICS-Aligned ESG Governance & Board Oversight
Specialised advisory for boards of directors, audit committees and corporate secretaries to institutionalise ESG oversight and fiduciary alignment under Institute of Certified Secretaries governance guidelines.
National ESG Competency Academy & Master Trainers
Standardised institutional training pipelines, executive sustainability academies and Trainer of Trainers (ToT) programmes that leave in-house capability behind rather than a dependency.
Certified ESG Auditor Training Pipeline — ESG Auditor Training Nairobi
A structured curriculum targeting the training and accreditation of governance auditors and independent sustainability assurance practitioners for the Kenyan and regional market.
Sustainable Business Model & Product Innovation
Advisory on circular economy integration, decarbonisation product roadmaps and stakeholder engagement to build and maintain a social licence to operate.
GHG Accounting & Carbon Footprinting
Scope 1, 2 and 3 greenhouse gas inventories built to the GHG Protocol — the emissions data that IFRS S2 disclosure actually rests on, with the boundary, ownership and audit-trail decisions that make the number assurable rather than merely calculated.
Supply Chain & Human Rights Due Diligence
Supplier screening against labour, human rights and environmental criteria, with tiered audit tools and corrective action frameworks — the diligence CSRD and most lender ESG reviews now require before they will price a facility.
ESG Regulatory Compliance Roadmap
A costed, phase-by-phase compliance roadmap mapped to the ICPAK timetable and to CMA, NSE and CBK expectations, with owners, milestones and board reporting points.
IFRS S1 S2 Disclosure Advisory: How An Engagement Runs
Diagnose
Entity classification, reporting deadline, double materiality assessment and a data-availability audit.
Govern
Board and committee mandates, ESG policy set, ownership matrix and disclosure controls.
Build
Data collection systems, KPI architecture and assurance-readiness documentation.
Certify
Academy and ToT delivery so your people, not ours, run the reporting cycle from year two.
Governance Work In The Field
Three engagements that show what ICS-aligned governance advisory and the Academy actually look like in practice.
Governance & Resource Mobilization Training
An intensive session on why governance has stopped being a back-office function and become the primary driver of resource mobilization. We took participants through four-tier donor mapping across global, regional, private and emerging funders; the power-interest model for aligning offers to a funder’s actual priorities; and how to align donor intelligence with ISSB and IFRS S1/S2, because modern funders require audit-ready impact data that fits their own disclosure obligations.

When does sustainability reporting actually become mandatory for us?
Under the ICPAK phased roadmap, Public Interest Entities report from 1 January 2027, large non-PIE companies from 1 January 2028 and small and micro non-public-interest entities from 1 January 2029. Sector regulators including the CMA, NSE and CBK may set earlier or additional expectations, so the practical answer depends on your entity classification and your lenders.
What is double materiality and why does it matter now?
Double materiality assesses both how sustainability issues affect your financial position and how your operations affect people and the environment. IFRS S1 and S2 focus on the first; GRI and CSRD require the second. Running one combined assessment early avoids doing the work twice.
We have no ESG data at all. Can you still help?
Frequently — many clients start from zero. We begin with a readiness assessment and a phased plan built around your reporting deadline rather than an overwhelming full-scope project.
Do you provide assurance on the report?
No. We prepare reports and data systems to be assurance-ready, but independent assurance must come from a separate provider to preserve independence. Our Certified ESG Auditor pipeline trains those practitioners.
Can you train our board rather than just our sustainability team?
Yes. Our ICS-aligned board and audit committee programme is designed specifically for directors and corporate secretaries, and covers fiduciary duty, oversight structures and what a board should be asking management for.
